Shaun began working in 1987 as a Lab Technician at the Northern Rivers College of Advanced
Education – Sport Science department in Lismore, NSW (now the Southern Cross University). At that
time, when superannuation contributions were not compulsory, Shaun felt privileged to be receiving
this “additional payment” on top of his salary.
“Back then, my family and friends did not know what superannuation was, so I was intrigued to find
out all about it”.
Shaun’s fascination for superannuation kept growing, eventually enticing him to begin a career in
finance with NAB in 1999. His vision was to assist people in making the most from this rewarding and
valuable type of investment, ensuring that they would have more than just the Age Pension to retire
on (as his Grandparents had to).
Shaun is now thrilled to be bringing his Financial Planning experience to Ellerfield. He aims to build
confidence and trust within each client by sharing his knowledge with them and ensuring that they
are on the right path towards achieving a comfortable retirement and beyond.
Outside of work, my time is spent catching up on family and friends in Toowoomba, Hervey Bay and
Newcastle (my home city) and visiting other Australian places that I haven’t yet explored.
